Why revisit this now?
- Tentative layouts around for some time
- Now pressure from Chris Parkman to enter
information into his database:
- Which crates are in which racks
- Estimated power consumption:
Receivers, PP, CP, JEP, ROD, TTC
Changes since original layout
- Cables will be laid without connectors.
So we will only need two holes in the shielding
wall, not three
- Number (and layout?) of holes has changed
- but we dont have the details yet
- CTP and TTC are off centre on the floor below
New proposal
- New suggested rack layout:
- Shift trigger racks to one side
- Easier access to most crates
- CP and JEP above CTP
- Use two shielding wall holes (centre and side)
- Still need to decide cabling and layout
between receivers and preprocessors
- Still subject to global optimisation
of level 1 trigger latency
