Background

• First level 1 wide discussion on software
• Partly prompted by pressure to formalise software process and QA within TDAQ
• Participants: CERN, Japan (KEK), Israel (Weizman), UK (RAL). Email submission from Italy.
• About 20 people including some from CERN DAQ group

Summary of status and plans at each site

• Everyone has their own diagnostic software and will continue to use and develop it
• Japanese (and Italians?) are still concentrating on hardware development
• Israelis steaming ahead with their own (single) ROD crate DAQ
• Most sites using Concurrent CPUs (except Japanese using Bit3 interfaces)

Nicks proposals

• Aim to standardise where possible
• Expect to use DAQ group VME library (ie instead of drivers) - subject to multiuser functionality
• Library (several?!) for TTCvi, BUSY modules
