Our planned route to Argentina – a ferry along a lake
near Huilo Huilo that has no road, followed by an easy pass
over the Andes
– was not possible due to the ferry being out of service. We were advised
to take a longer but
very nice pass for 4x4s only, but as it doesn’t have a
full border control post we needed a special paper
from the police
at the nearest town, Panguipulli. But their computer was
broken, so we had to spend four hours looking around the town.
